In-Vivo Animal Technician - Contract - Lexington MA

Primary Responsibilities:

��Ƶ is seeking an Animal Research Technician to support preclinical research activities in a rodent facility. This role involves hands-on animal handling, dosing, sample collection, and data recording. You will contribute technical expertise to research projects and ensure the well-being of laboratory animals while maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance standards.

Skills & Requirements:

Proficiency in rodent handling and in-life measurements.
Experience with blood collection and sample handling.
Skilled in administering doses via PO, IP, and SC routes.
Familiarity with animal anesthesia, euthanasia, and post-surgical care.
Ability to perform necropsy and tissue collection.
Strong organizational skills to manage supplies and maintain records.
Knowledge of SOPs and quality standards in laboratory animal care.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.

The In-Vivo Animal Technician's responsibilities will be:

Perform animal handling, dosing, and in-life measurements for rodents.
Collect blood and other samples using various techniques.
Administer doses via different routes, including oral (PO), intraperitoneal (IP), and subcutaneous (SC).
Conduct daily food and health checks for pharmacology studies.
Perform animal anesthesia, euthanasia, and post-procedural/surgical monitoring.
Collect samples, data, and tissues during necropsy procedures.
Maintain adequate stock of animal care and research supplies.
Provide technical assistance with injections and other procedures.
Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality assurance standards related to laboratory animals.
